In Poitiers, the 3×3 basketball festival takes over the city center

The rain stopped this Sunday and allowed the 3×3 basketball festival to return to the place du Maréchal-Leclerc (place d’Armes) in Poitiers. After the seniors and the U18s on Saturday, it was the turn of the U13s and U15s girls and boys to show their game on the pitch.

The pleasure of playing above all

For the teenagers who take part in the tournament, it is above all fun. “This is our first outdoor 3×3 competition, rejoices Louis from the Val Vert de Dissay U13 team. There is a very good atmosphere. Even if we lose, we have fun. There are a lot of people coming to see it so it’s cool.”

A very friendly tournament

Louis Jacquet in civic service within the 3×3 Poitiers association talks about basketball with a smile. “It’s really a very friendly tournament that keeps the urban spirit of 3×3 basketball”. Poitiers is a land of basketball and even more of 3×3. “When this way of playing arrived in France around 2011, the city was one of the first places to organize such a tournament. Today it is perhaps the biggest French event.”
