IN PICTURES – The Tour de France Women arrives in Alsace, thousands of spectators along the roads

The bike festival is coming to Alsace! On the occasion of the sixth stage of the Tour de France Women, which left Paris on Sunday July 24, the peloton of runners passed on the Alsatian roads Friday, for a course of 128 kilometers between Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and Rosheim, in Bas-Rhin. It is the Dutch Marianne Vos who wins the stage and retains the yellow jersey. For this return of the Tour to Alsatian lands, thousands of people flocked to the sides of the roads to encourage the peloton.

The party started at the end of the morning in the coast of Grendelbruchclassified in category 3. Raymonde and Séverine, who live next door, have written the slogan “Bravo girls” on the road.

Chris took his two daughters to see the peloton of women cyclists. “It was very important to me,” he said. “They can more easily identify with them and see that it’s not just boys who ride bikes.”

Among the public in the coast of Grendelbruch, some came from very far. Juan traveled 8,000 kilometers from Colombia to cheer on his girlfriend, Paula Patino, who is taking part in the Women’s Tour de France with the Movistar team. “I managed to see her and she even gave me a hand kiss!”, enthuses the young man. after the passage of the runners.
