IN PICTURES – The rehearsals of the Folies Béarnaises in Pontacq before the Champs-Elysées

It is an unprecedented event. 2022 ewes, around twenty teams of Béarnaise cows, donkeys, shepherds and artists marching through Paris, this is the somewhat crazy project of the Folies Béarnaises, a transhumance on the Champs-Elysées.

On the occasion of the closing of the Agricultural Show, Sunday March 6, 2022, the Béarn Basque Country Attractiveness and Tourism Development Agency (AaDT) is organizing a parade. The parade will take place between the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées roundabout. Objective : promote Béarn and its traditions.

A large-scale event that requires important preparations. The organizers have been preparing for almost two years. A week before the big day, nearly 350 dancers and musicians gathered in the center of Pontacq (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), to a final dress rehearsal.
