The exceptional heat caused new fires this Thursday in Indre-et-Loire. A harvester caught fire in a field in Bléré where 3 hectares of wheat burned. Another harvest fire, in Lerné, destroyed 10 hectares of crops and 2 hectares of forest, in the afternoon. An 80-year-old woman, whose house was hit by the flames at roof level, was evacuated from her home. Firefighters from all over Touraine, who were on a specific maneuvers course firefighters in Saint-Benoit-la-Forêt, near Chinon, were called to this fire. France Bleu Touraine, which covered this course, followed them in intervention.
