Despite the public shouting “Allez Brive”, the CAB bows against Bègles-Bordeaux 6 to 0. But, who cares! The Brivistes win the U14 challenge. Giovanny Tafili, hooker captain of this team, was very happy after the meeting. “It was very hard, but we didn’t give up, we only attacked” underlines the youngster, who started in U8.

“We made people want to, we were all together, and we didn’t give up even when we got tested” notes pillar Lise Geneste. The water jets and the enclosure screamed in the locker room and on the field. “We are happy” comments Giovanny Tafili. “We were all jumping” he smiles. Lise Geneste also felt a lot of pride, especially when entering the field of honor. “It was really wonderful to have experienced that with this team, to play on the pitch of the pros. We have to continue like that for the next matches” notes the one who has been playing since the age of 10 in Brive.

“For them, this tournament is a memory factory, so I’m very proud of them” – Gilles Duclos, trainer at CA Brive

For educators, it is also a great victory. “It’s historic, we hadn’t won this Challenge for 25 years” smiled Gilles Duclos, in charge of three-quarters. For his colleague forward Olivier Planade, it is the pleasure taken by these young people which is one of the greatest victories. “They are only there to have fun. If they are not happy, nothing can happen. That’s what we try to transmit to them, this pleasure of playing and trying. That’s what they did this weekend, giving pleasure to the people who came. That’s what’s most interesting”.

For some, like Lise Geneste, the season is not over. Youth categories are still engaged in several championships.
