Monday marked the first of Happy Days, Chloé Robichaud’s most recent film. The event was held at the Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts. On the left of the photo, the director’s partner, comedian Katherine Levac, who also plays a role in the feature film.

Actresses Sophie Desmarais and Nour Belkhiria, both appearing in the film, presented themselves all smiles to the cameras on the red carpet. On screen, Sophie Desmarais plays Emma, a talented conductor and rising star on the Montreal scene. The film chronicles her complex relationship with her father and agent Patrick, who has maintained a devious hold over her since childhood.

It’s none other than Sylvain Marcel (in the photo) who plays Patrick on the big screen.

Interesting fact: actress Sophie Desmarais worked for almost two years with the Orchester Métropolitain and its conductor, Yannick Nézet-Séguin (left), in order to perfect her conducting techniques on screen. On the right, actress Maude Guérin, who is also part of the cast.
