A religious ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Protestant Temple of the Oratory of the Louvre, according to the notice published by his brother, his nephews and his companion Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz.
Found lifeless at his home in the inner suburbs of Paris, Thierry Mugler, who had taken the nickname Manfred Thierry Mugler for a few years, died of “natural death”.
He ruled the fashion of the 1980s and continued to delight international stars with his spectacular outfits in structured and sophisticated silhouettes.
The “Mugler woman”, with accentuated shoulders, plunging necklines and corseted waists, has toured the world, from Jerry Hall to Kim Kardashian.
The couturier, who had moved away from the catwalks in 2002, had inaugurated a retrospective at the end of September devoted to him until April 24 at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, recounting his career as a visionary stylist, photographer and director.
