In the west of the capital, they are eight to try to seek a post of deputy. A situation that does not help the inhabitants.
In the 20th arrondissement of Paris, people are jostling for a deputy position. Beyond the media duel between Danielle Simonnet (Nupes) and Lamia El Aaraje (socialist dissident), other candidates are trying to exist. In total, eight are running for the 2022 legislative elections. This is the case of François-Marie Didier (LR), who is counting on his local roots to win, refusing to comment on the war of the left. “I don’t refuse the debate, I try to empathize with people”he explains.
“We should be able to balance between the executive and the legislative,” says a resident of the 20th arrondissement. Mohamad Gassama represents the presidential majority. He poses as the main adversary to the left-wing coalition. “What matters is not the device agreements?, between people who don’t agree on anything.” Candidates from the center and the right still have four weeks to tilt this constituency, which is firmly anchored to the left.
