“Immediate ceasefire and stop the massacre in Gaza.” More than a thousand people gathered on the evening of Thursday, November 2, in Paris, to demand an end to “massacre in Gaza” and one “immediate ceasefire”, during a demonstration authorized by the police headquarters at the call of elected representatives of La France insoumise, political and union collectives.

From 6 p.m., a compact crowd gathered in the center of Republic Square, waving flags and signs in support of the Palestinian people and the inhabitants of Gaza.. “Children of Gaza, children of Palestine, it is humanity that is being murdered”, “Israel assassin, Macron complicit” : the demonstrators chanted at the top of their lungs various pro-Palestinian slogans. “Stop the genocide in Gaza”, we could also read on several signs.

This gathering “in solidarity with the Palestinian people” was not banned by the police headquarters, the police prefect Laurent Nuñez having explained on Monday that he “trust in the organizers”, on BFMTV/RMC. The demonstration brought together members of LFI, the French Communist Party (PCF), the New Anticapitalist Party (NPA), Lutte Ouvrière and associations such as the Movement Against Racism and for Friendship Between Peoples (Mrap).
