Instant Muffins Presto
Well known for its frozen smoothie cubes, the Quebec company Evive is innovating once again with these muffin batter cubes, offered in the same format as the smoothies. Just place the small triangles in molds and bake them for half an hour at 350 oh F for perfectly cooked, fluffy little snacks. Big plus: good taste is not sacrificed on the altar of the nutritional side. Muffins are high in fiber and low in sugar — but just enough to satisfy the kids! The chocolate-banana flavor contains zucchini and semi-sweet chocolate chips, while the carrot flavor incorporates pumpkin seeds and cinnamon. And they are also very good!

La Presserie vinaigrettes won a prize in the Innovation competition at the International Food Show.
Winners of the Bronze prize in the Innovation competition at the last International Food Show (SIAL), La Presserie’s vinaigrettes are sure to turn heads. The Canadian company, which also markets fresh squeezed juices, is innovating with these vinaigrettes which won over the jury with their quality and freshness. Made from cold-pressed fruits and vegetables, they come in different original flavors, such as Mango Curry, Strawberry Balsamic and Pomegranate Orange. Added to this are other flavors that reinvent classics, including BBQ Ranch (our favourite) or Caesar with fresh garlic. We loved their unctuous side, very tasty, which adds a real “oumph” to salads.

Another option to enhance your green salad: Emulsion vinaigrettes, which offer flavors that are sometimes classic, sometimes more daring. With its 12 different products (8 ordinary, 4 seasonal), the range is very varied. To the traditional “Caesar” and “Balsamic” vinaigrettes are added more surprising options, such as the refreshing “Cucumber and mint”, perfect for stretching out the summer. With its creamy consistency, the “Dijon and onion” sauce really appealed to us as a sandwich. The majority of products in the Emulsion line, concocted by the Quebec company Les Aliments Parador, are gluten-free. The dressings, which can also be used as a dip or marinade, do not contain peanuts, tree nuts or artificial flavors and colours. Only downside: we would have preferred a shorter list of ingredients with fewer additives.

naturSource Maple Almonds
Who says back to school says… munchies and other snacks. The Quebec company naturSource excels in this field thanks to its variety of products composed of natural ingredients and without additives. The maple praline almonds are highly addictive (your friends will want to take your bag home, true story!). Those with tamari will satisfy savory addicts. The company also offers the Uncrouton range, from gluten-free salad toppings that go “beyond croutons”, a mixture of almonds and seeds, to flavors such as Garlic & fine herbs or Vegan Caesar, which adds a lot of textures and taste with greens.
