A recruiting session without resume ! Transdev was in Niort, in the Carrefour du Clou-Bouchet car park on Monday for an original job day. No traditional meetings but an escape game, in a converted bus. The transport group seeks to recruit throughout the Region, mainly for school transport. In the Niortaise agglomeration, it is a dozen bus and coach drivers who are wanted.

“The escape game is dedicated to revealing your professional skills”, explains Béatrice Gannieux, director of human resources for Transdev Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Participants have 30 minutes to figure out how to open boxes. Two facilitators observe them. “In concrete terms, they come out with a small skills passport and that allows them to reach us, Transdev employers or others, saying here I am, I don’t have a diploma but I know how to work in a team or I’m an analytical person. “, she explains. A driving simulator is also available to the public.
Recruitment difficulties
An original method for Transdev which has difficulty finding drivers. “Sometimes there are staggered hours, we also recruit a lot on part-time which accentuates the difficulties of recruitment”, analyzes Béatrice Gannieux. It is all the more complicated today with the economic situation. “In most of our employment areas, we have a fairly low unemployment rate. Here in Niort this is really the case”.
The transport operator is also considering other levers to promote recruitment. “For school transport, the drivers work more in the morning and in the evening. The question is during the rest of the day what do I do so we can work on multi-activity with people who have already an employer or who are self-employed. We are also making bridges to the Tanlib urban network, also operated by Transdev, where we have full time so we offer career development”specifies the HRD.
