Julien Goudichaud presents in Nice confined outside, a film about the homeless during the health crisis. In Paris, he followed those who live outside, those forgotten by the pandemic. A strong documentary film, made during night outings during confinement. Meetings with those we don’t want to see, but who were the only ones visible during these timeless weeks. “There were a lot of emotions and a lot of distress, explains Julien Goudichaud. It came out of Paris what we did not want to see. It was as if they were spitting in our faces what was left of the distress that we refuse to see on a daily basis. But at that time, we couldn’t miss it.”

Confinements, restrictions and sanitary measures are, this year, a source of inspiration for the artists present in Nice. In documentary, fiction or animated film, the world of today and tomorrow remains a great source of inspiration. “The short film, in all its forms, serves to convey messages. We also see that the directors who came this year have things to say”, explains Laurent Trémeau, the artistic director of the festival.

Alongside these committed filmmakers, the programme, with its hundred films on offer, also gives pride of place to young audiences. An appointment for all in the four corners of Nice.
