In my daycare center | The duty

Every day, when I arrive at the CPE, I find my group of children, but also all the other children, we greet each other, we smile, we talk to each other. I know the 80 first names, I know who their parents are and yet I am not their educator.

At the CPE les Ateliers, we are the village that educates children. I am an educator, but I do not have the feeling of belonging to the Quebec educational service, but to its day care service. And yet, the learning that your children absorb every day thanks to educators and social life are decisive for their school future. I am an educator, but I do not look after your children. I do not subcontract education either, because the essential people for your children are you, the parents. I am a qualified and experienced early childhood professional. I am not taking anyone hostage in this context, because the hostage-taking is done by terrorists: are we?

Believe me, I would rather be with the children who, by the way, lose their living environment during this time of strike. During this strike, I get up early in the morning to go out into the cold to defend my profession, my work team, our quality of life and also that of the children.
