After the death of Alexeï Navalny, Friday February 16, reactions are multiplying and among them, there is that of his wife, Yulia. She was in Munich to participate in the annual Security Conference where she publicly reacted, in front of officials and ministers.

His presence was also a surprise for many here in Munich. It was the president of the conference, German Ambassador Christopher Heusgen who revealed this by sending his condolences in his opening speech to the said conference. Yulia Navalny was, in fact, to participate during the day on Saturday in a round table devoted to“Future of Russia”.

Instead, with a lot of emotion in her voice, she spoke in front of the elite of this conference: ministers, ambassadors and secretary general of the UN, who had come to attend Kamala Harris’s speech.

“What would Alexei have done in my place?”

Yulia Navalny unexpectedly intervened just after the American vice-president: “Obviously you heard this terrible news. I really thought about what I should do. Should I talk to you or go back to my parents? And I thought: ‘What would Alexei have done to my place?’. I’m sure he would have stayed here, speaking in front of you.”

Speaking in front of, in fact, the cream of the international community responsible for security issues. Firstly to send the message to be wary: the announcement of her husband’s death having been made by the authorities and certain Russian media, which, she recalled, “lie all the time” up to the highest level of state, including Putin. “They are no longer credible”she added.

But if the information were to be verified: “At this time, I would like to tell you, here and today, to all those who work for Putin, his entourage, his relatives, his friends… I would like them to know that there will be no “impunity. They will be punished for what they did to our country, to my family, to my husband.” Yulia Navalny then called on leaders around the world, and all those who will listen, to unite against the regime of Vladimir Putin, holding the latter personally responsible.
