A Sanef employee died on Tuesday, August 13, after being hit by a vehicle at around 8 p.m. in Moselle at the Saint-Avold toll on the A4, Radio France learned on Wednesday, August 14, from a source close to the case, confirming information from Le Républicain Lorrain.
The 53-year-old woman went to help a motorcyclist who was having trouble paying. As she approached, she was hit by a speeding vehicle that also hit the toll barriers, the same source said. This information was confirmed by the Sarreguemines prosecutor’s office to France Bleu, which specified that the accident occurred in the Metz-Strasbourg direction.
The driver fled the scene. An investigation has been opened, entrusted to the Saint-Avold gendarmerie squad. For its part, the Sanef group says it is “in mourning”.
