The Branféré animal park, located in Guerno, near La Roche-Bernard (Morbihan) reopens its doors on Saturday February 5 after 2 and a half months of shutdown. “It is the third most visited site in Brittany and the first in Morbihan“explains its managing director Frédéric Jayot”we employ 85 people year-round on permanent contracts and we are around 170 with fixed-term contracts during the busy summer months“. In 2019, the park welcomed more than 300,000 visitors. In 2021, despite the months of shutdown during confinement, Branféré made 260,000 entries. In the park, there are many trades as trainers, veterinarians, reception and catering staff, facilitators, educators or communication. Thanks to state aid, the park was able to best overcome the losses suffered during the closures linked to the health crisis.

Two novelties

next spring, the park will welcome new residents, okapis and cassowaries.The two animal buildings are being finalized and the layout of the outdoor enclosures should begin quickly. “says the management of the park in a press release. At the park, you can always live several experiences like the day in the shoes of a healer or a weekend close to the animals in family formula.
