The schools of the Montreal School Service Center (CSSDM) will be closed as of November 21, for an “indefinite period,” indicated the CSSDM in an email sent to parents Tuesday afternoon.
The three-day strike announced by the Common Front in Education, Health and Social Services will take place on November 21, 22 and 23. In the Montreal region, this walkout concerns support staff and school professionals.
Teachers will launch an indefinite general strike on November 23. They are members of the Alliance of Montreal Teachers, which is part of the Autonomous Teaching Federation (FAE).
“The unions have informed us that there will be picketing or mobilization activities in front of CSSDM establishments. In this context, all CSSDM schools, including daycare services, will be closed from Tuesday, November 21, 2023, for an indefinite period,” writes the school service center.
In a FAQ on its website, the CSSDM recalls that “during the announced strike period, no courses or distance learning are planned for all primary and secondary students as well as the adult sector” . The CSSDM administrative center will be closed to the public from November 21 to 23.
