Emmanuel Macron went on Wednesday June 15 to countries bordering Ukraine, in particular Moldova, where he wished with his counterpart the creation of a political commission European.

Journalist James André followed French President Emmanuel Macron’s meeting with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, a country whose capital is a few kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Ukraine was also at the heart of the discussions, Moldova having received “a large number of refugees at the start of the crisis: 480,000. There are still 80 in the country“, says the journalist.

Emmanuel Macron hailed the solidarity of the Moldovans. For her part, Maia Sandu hailed the French initiative, “which proposes a European political commission, a new space for dialogue on the European continent to try to settle in the short term, very quickly, security and military problems“, adds James André. It is also a way to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
