Faced with the increase in food poisoning due to fungi, two mycological associations in Lorraine are organizing workshops to remind lovers of this food to be wary of their appearance. #IlsOntLaSolution
When it comes to mushrooms, the formula is simple. If we don’t know them, we don’t collect them. However, since the beginning of July, France has listed 1,179 cases of mushroom poisoning, including 32 serious cases. This situation alerted two mycological associations in Lorraine who decided to organize meetings to give some advice to picking enthusiasts. The stand is held every Monday at the Faculty of Nancy.
In eastern France, the nebulous clytocybe is heavily consumed. But the concern is that it is like another fungus which is not without risk. The latter causes 90% of poisoning in Lorraine. “The clytocybe is a fungus that has a fairly gray cap. It looks like two drops of water like the livid entoloma because they can have a cap of the same color. In addition, these two mushrooms grow in circles and can grow apart. intertwine. So that represents a real trap for the picker “, explains Marie-Paule Sauder, president of the Lorraine Society of Mycology and lecturer in botany and mycology at the faculty of pharmacy of the University of Lorraine.
As a reminder, it is advisable to do your picking with a basket and not with a plastic bag. Last year, France recorded more than 1,300 mushroom poisonings between July and December, including 56% in October.
