The amount announced by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne is historic: 100 billion euros to modernize trains by 2040. In Limoges, the plan is eagerly awaited by users and entrepreneurs.

Traveling from Limoges to Paris by train is not easy. It takes 3h38 to reach the capital, mainly by regional train. And the problems are many, according to a regular user: “Freezing, sometimes cable problems… Half the time there’s a problem. Every time, I plan for it.” With its aging infrastructure, the station is often under construction.

Companies want to leave the city

Especially since companies like Legrand are planning to leave the city. The 100 billion euro plan announced by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne to modernize trains is therefore well received. The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry abounds: “We could have a metropolitan or inter-metropolitan train for quick access”. In addition to the plan announced by Matignon, an envelope of two billion euros has been planned for Limoges by the Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune. He will travel to Limoges (Haute-Vienne) on Friday March 3.
