At 72, she is a fulfilled woman. Both on a professional and personal level. Josiane Balasko is one of the sacred monsters of French cinema and even if she is advancing in age, nothing seems to stop her. The cinema, she likes it and will continue to take on roles until the end. She will also be starring in Isabelle Mergault’s next film, “Hands of Gold”scheduled in theaters for June 7, 2023, alongside Lambert Wilson and Sylvie Testud.

Parent of Marilou Berry, born in 1983, Josiane Balasko is also the mother of Rudy, born in 1988. However, as far as her boy is concerned, the 72-year-old actress could not give birth to him. Indeed, she and her companion Philippe Berry adopted him when he was only three years old.

“It’s different in the sense that the child is all done. He’s already done, we have more to do”, admitted the actress in front of the journalists of the “Rencontres du Papotin”. If Josiane Balasko had “already a girl” her “want to have another child” was too big not to enlarge the family. Unfortunately for her, she couldn’t have any more. “So we went to the DDASS to apply for adoption”she continued in front of the speakers.

Her boy, now 33, was in foster care “when he was a year old, two years old, until we adopted him” after arriving in the home. “She wasn’t like a mom, but she was a wonderful person”she remembered, still moved by these tender memories.
