In Beirut, new strikes from Israel rang out during the day on Thursday, after a week of attacks which left at least 900 dead. In the capital, residents from the south, stormed by Israeli fire, are unable to reassure themselves.
Panic in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, Thursday September 26. A strike hit a building where, according to the Israeli army, the head of Hezbollah’s drone units was located. A claim that the Shiite movement has not yet confirmed. The provisional Lebanese report shows two dead and 15 injured, including at least one woman.
The explosion was heard as far away as a school transformed into a refuge three kilometers from the impact zone. There, displaced people believed they had escaped the war by fleeing southern Lebanon. “We are especially afraid for the children, the little ones, it’s important”worries Omar Halawi, one of the refugees. His family is torn between fear and incomprehension. “We’re adults, we’ve been through this before, he explains. My daughter asks me ‘Dad, what is war?’“. For now, Israeli strikes continue in southern and eastern Lebanon. In one week, 900 deaths were counted in the country.
