On the morning of Thursday July 14 in La Teste-de-Buch (Gironde), the taste of the coffee is a little bitter. The second night in the hangar at the Parc des Expositions was complicated for some camping residents, welcomed since Tuesday evening. “All night, we heard the firefighters, the smell of fire, it was really impressive,” says a woman. “The problem is that we (…) had planned only one week this year. We arrived on Saturday, Tuesday it ended”laments a man.

The hangar emptied considerably in the morning. Of the 6,000 campers accommodated since Tuesday evening, only a hundred are still there, awaiting instructions from the authorities. Many have returned to the road, others have been collected from private individuals. The services of the city, the Red Cross and the Civil Protection are always mobilized to accompany the campers. However, unlucky holidaymakers will have to be patient.
