In Kiev, residents are preparing for the attack of the Russians

In the southwestern suburbs of Kiev on Wednesday March 9, a few kilometers from the Russian positions, Angelina, a resident fears an imminent attack. She has been organizing for a few days to resist with the help of her neighbors and her husband, who has already taken up arms from her. “We took our 5-year-old son to safety because two missiles fell two hundred meters from here”she says. “We are not prepared to fight against tanks, but we will fight ground troops”, assures her husband. While waiting for the fight, they pick up the shrapnel that has fallen on the ground. Angelina and her neighbor prepare meals every day for the soldiers who protect their neighborhood.

In her locality, 80% of the neighborhood has left, leaving the keys and money to Angelina. In the basement, some of her friends are taking shelter to sleep, but she doesn’t want to stay. “The cellar is not so safe. If missiles hit our building, it can become a tomb for all of us”, she explains. Before the war, the area was popular with young families buying their first home in the city. Now the cafeteria has been transformed into an armory. In the residence, a doctor and a nurse are ready to take care of both civilians and soldiers.
