IN IMAGES – Skier Julien Lizeroux descends between burning poles

The images give chills. Last April, retiree Julien Lizeroux made a unique descent in La Plagne. On images released this Thursday, we see slalom the vice-world champion of the discipline, at night, between a hundred flaming stakes, which extinguish after its passage. A challenge that is as technical as it is artistic. “To launch out into the dark night with the only light, that of the torches, is an experience that could not be more delicate. I had to simultaneously manage the unknown, the apprehension of not seeing anything between the stakes and the risk of fire”, tells the native of Moutiers.
