Storms for everyone. A large part of France is crossed, Saturday, June 4, by violent storms. Météo France has placed 65 departments on storm alert and warns of a stormy episode “requiring particular vigilance due to a high risk of violent phenomena”.
Franceinfo has selected a few photos and videos taken all over France.
Crops destroyed in Charente-Maritime
Already victims of drought, some farmers have seen part of their harvest destroyed by hail, like this farmer from Charente-Maritime.
After waiting for the rain for so long, it finally arrived but unfortunately in solid form.
In just 1 month with the accumulation of the #drought and some #hail our potential contribution to food sovereignty has been reduced by 50%.@Agri_Gov pic.twitter.com/g8U3AMQuTz— Christian DANIAU (@DaniauChristian) June 4, 2022
Impressive clouds near Orleans
In the Loiret, in Meung-sur-Loire, an amateur storm hunter photographed an arcus, a low roll-shaped cloud announcing the storm
Still, I wasn’t expecting such a burst of storms in the Centre! Succession of very hail-prone supercells including an HP with a magnificent arcus! (Photo Meung-sur-Loire) pic.twitter.com/ed95SHNKXf

Not far from there, in Orleans, the webcam installed on the belfry of the city made it possible to capture this other image of the threatening cloud.

In the Yvelines department, hailstorms forced the authorities to close certain roads. “Do not try to cross the prohibitions”ask the firefighters on Twitter.
