In Île-de-France, since the morning of Thursday January 18, the circulation of buses, trams and trains has been disrupted. You have to be careful on the roads.

A few centimeters of snow on the roads of Yvelines did not prevent some motorists from getting behind the wheel. “You just have to anticipate, drive slowly, (…) it doesn’t matter if you’re late”, advises one of them. A PE teacher preferred to stop on the side of the road because he could not fully control his vehicle. He tries again, without success.

Public transport disrupted

Snow disrupts traffic throughout Île-de-France and using secondary roads is sometimes tricky. In a town in Yvelines, municipal agents are hard at work from 1 a.m. aboard their salt spreaders. “We have around twenty kilometers of roads to salt”, explains Christophe Epaillard, head of the municipal technical center. In the heart of the capital, the powder snow did not prevent Parisians from taking their bikes. One in four buses runs. Train passengers are also experiencing difficulties. Caution: with these low temperatures, snow could remain stuck to the ground and the roads could become slippery.
