War between Israel and Hamas: in Gaza, civilians and hostages are trapped

War between Israel and Hamas: in Gaza, civilians and hostages are trapped – (FRANCEINFO)

For its page dedicated to the war between Israel and Hamas, 19/20 info takes stock of the latest images, Friday November 17.

Yehudit Weiss, 65 years old. Noa Marciano, 19 years old. Two women, two Hamas hostages found dead by Israeli soldiers. For their families, hope has vanished. The two bodies were found in a building near Al-Shifa Hospital (Gaza). According to the Israeli army, around 240 people were taken hostage on October 7, including eight French people.

UN fears famine in Gaza

On both sides of the border, bombings follow one another. In Sderot (Israel) the sirens sound, then come the detonations. In Gaza, a strike has just hit Rafah. Residents run to the bleeding wounded, some of them children.

The situation could get even worse: the UN fears a famine. Residents are running out of food and drinking water. Humanitarian trucks cannot reach civilians because Israel prevents all fuel supplies. Hungry residents sometimes walk several kilometers in search of food, in vain. Early in the afternoon, Friday, November 17, Israel authorized the daily entry of two fuel trucks.
