“Barely a fifth of the needs for the population of Gaza are covered,” regrets, Monday April 8, at the microphone of the International Editorial Staff of Radio France, Louis-Nicolas Jandeaux, humanitarian manager of Oxfam France, the day after the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the south of the Gaza Strip, notably from the town of Khan Younès . The NGO also judges “clearly insufficient” This “simple withdrawal of troops ashore”. Its humanitarian manager is in fact calling for “a permanent ceasefire with the opening of borders to be able to have a significant influx of humanitarian aid.”

Oxfam France deplores the argument used by the Israeli army in “the press release” which announces this withdrawal. “It is rather presented as a strategic withdrawal”, regrets Louis-Nicolas Jandeaux. He believes that this “is a bit chilling, because they claim that they are withdrawing in order to prepare for future operations.” “In a way, this is once again affirming a rejection of any potential future ceasefire,” he adds.
