A few days ago, Cristiano Ronaldo was presented to the press. During this presentation, CR7 notably declared this sentence: “It’s not the end of my career to come to South Africa.” A beautiful blunder which has gone around the world, provoking many mockeries, in particular from the South African tourist office. “I am patiently awaiting the arrival of Ronaldo (…) You are welcome in South Africa at any time!”could we read on the account Twitter.
But Saudi fans didn’t hold it against the 37-year-old striker. The latter has signed a contract with the Saudi club Al Nassr until June 2025. The Portuguese international will receive nearly 200 million euros per year, making him the highest paid footballer in the world. This agreement includes the use of its image rights and other commercial agreements.
“I’m so proud to have made this big decision in my life and career. My work in Europe is done. I’ve played for all the biggest clubs. I’ve had many opportunities in Europe. Many clubs in Brazil, Australia, USA and even Portugal. For me it’s a good chance with my knowledge and experience to develop very important clubs. I want to help many different points and the women’s team of Al-Nassr. I want to change the perspective of many people”he said after his press conference.
