In Tarn-et-Garonne, the man who stabbed his future son-in-law just before he married his daughter, this Saturday June 2 in Faudoas, was indicted for attempted murder and violence with a weapon, reports France Occitanie Blue. He was also placed in pre-trial detention.

This 56-year-old man burst into front of Faudoas town hall on Saturday May 30 and stabbed his future son-in-law seven times. The groom was evacuated to a hospital in Toulouse in the afternoon. Two other people were slightly injured, including the bride. The intervention of the guests and the mayor made it possible to separate the father-in-law from the groom. “I had to tackle him, put him on the ground, contain him, take the weapon out of his hand and then I put my knee on his throat. So that he couldn’t move , I pinned his arm”explains the mayor, who is also a former rugby player in Agen.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the father of the young woman has always opposed this union. He had tried to have the marriage annulled with the mayor on the grounds that around forty years separate the two bride and groom.
