In Extremiss, an anti-waste delicatessen!

IN EXTREMISS, the project for an anti-waste grocery store, the first in Nantes?

Baptized In Extremiss, close to the adage in extremist, and inaugurated in November 2021 at 22 rue des Hauts-Pavés.

Julie Potier and Hélène Perrais, the two faces of the Hauts-Pavés opened this first anti-waste grocery store in Nantes and offer, at lower prices, products destined for destruction. An anti-waste delicatessen, a destocking place that focuses on local and organic.

The principle ?

Repurchase products that are excluded from mass distribution for many reasons: damaged packaging problems, badly glued labels, end of series, storage or delivery errors and products with close or even exceeded expiry dates, but which can still be consumed.

With a leitmotiv in emphasis: No loss! By following the double principle of “avoiding food waste, and doing good for the planet as much as for the wallet, by offering many products for sale 30% cheaper than market prices!”

In short circuit?

With only local producers! In addition to these anti-waste products, Julie and Hélène wanted to highlight the quality of the products, the fruit of the work of local producers and artisans. You can find farm eggs, compotes and jams from the Côteaux Nantes, beers from La Maison Blanche located in Machecoul, Kignon biscuits from Savenay, the eco-farm of 1,001 pattes from Carquefou for eggs, flour and rillettes, the Coteaux Nantes de Vertou, the green flea market…

How did this idea of creating In Extremiss come about?

Just a meeting, then it’s courage and elbow grease! It was at work that they met and decided to join forces. They were pairs in a temporary employment agency, one in charge of business, the other in charge of recruitment. They decided to give more meaning to their work, by mixing it with their ecological concerns.
