In Doazit, an individual provides a climbing wall in his barn

Nicolas Le Marinier is 48 years old. This former climbing instructor, originally from the Paris region, settled two years ago in the Landes town of Doazit with his family. Passionate about climbing, this keen climber decided to build a climbing block in his barn.

Initially, he built this climbing wall, with the help of his wife, only for his son. This climbing enthusiast then thought of a rather innovative concept: to offer the people of the Landes the opportunity to come and enjoy his bouldering against … good humor!

Climbing safely

This wall is accessible from 7 years old. With more than a hundred climbing holds, this block is 3.20 meters high and 7 meters long. Allowing you to go around the structure in 40 movements with the sole strength of your arms and legs, it is a playground for young and old.

In terms of safety, Nicolas took good care of the small details: two layers of mattresses, prevention before the session.

3,000 euros of equipment and two weeks of construction is the time it took Nicolas and his wife to build this life-size playground.

It’s both for playing sports and creating friendships

Nicolas Le Marinier and his wife wish develop the practice of climbing, not very common in the Landes. But the former climbing instructor wants to eventually create groups of children and adults who want to practice regularly and share good times. The goal: to practice and create friendships around a common passion.
