In Dijon, in the Côte d’Or, a branch of SOS Médecins has opened and filled up with patients.
Opened a month ago, the SOS Médecins site in Dijon (Côte d’Or) fill up. The place is open every day, Monday to Sunday, at midday and in the evening from 6 p.m. to midnight. Availability that makes all the difference. “Perhaps in the long term we will further extend our hours, it will depend on demand. This morning, at 10 a.m., everything was full until 8 p.m.”says Doctor Isabelle Ferbus.
The causes are known: fewer doctors, fewer guards and an aging population. Paradoxically, the success of SOS Médecins worries its own practitioners. “Dijon is complicated, doctors are aging, I fear that we are unraveling liberal medicine and the doctor who follows his patient and that we will eventually do less and less good preventive medicine”says Dr. Rémi Rochelet.
