in debt, ruined, Yves Lecoq confides his heavy financial problems in “TPMP People”

He was the voice of Info Guignols on Canal + for 30 years! A career as a unique imitator which accompanied the success of one of the flagship programs of the encrypted channel and which one would think to have sheltered, today, this 77-year-old man. But that’s not the case, unfortunately. Guest on the set of TPMP People this Saturday, May 27, 2023 on C8, Yves Lecoq indeed confided that he had contracted heavy debts throughout his life. In question: his passion for castles. And all his cachets went there! From its first “300,000 francs”he finds “Asmall manor in Picardy”. A first piece of real estate which will be followed by five other castles, he explains. An abyss of restoration and maintenance work that swallows up all his finances. Without ever settling accounts with the tax authorities! All the money went to the castles. And suddenly, the taxes were absorbed by the historical monuments, by the work I was doing.”, he tells a Bernard Montiel who, for the second time, takes over the position of Matthieu Delormeau since the hasty departure of the latter from the program.

“I could still have saved 500 bullets”

And the comedian to regret never having been able to create a cash flow: I made a good living qeven with what i was doing […] but I didn’t have a penny aside. Besides, I was wrong because I could still have put 500 bucks aside to have at least some money when I have problems. And to the host who is trying to better understand why he is so indebted, he lets go:And I still have debts because I sold everything at a low price, because of the Covid among other things”, explaining that the bank had sold his property at auction, putting him under terrible pressure:I had to find the money in 24 hoursand add “It’s not huge sums but I was selling everything at a discount so at one point I was short of money. Today, the imitator still owns three castles, but above all he needs to sell one, – which he points out when the building appears in the photo – to manage to find financial breathing space. Especially since he ended his career three years ago as a result of the Covid and he no longer receives any remuneration: I stopped everything all at once: TV, the show and Canal”, he concludes frankly.
