A sweet melody floats above Deauville on this Easter weekend. The 26th edition of the Easter chamber music festival opened on April 16 on the Normandy coast. And the festivities will last until May 7. What a success of the reunion with a public deprived of concerts for two years in Deauville because of the health restrictions linked to the epidemic of Covid-19.
At a time when the bells drop chocolates for the children, the Deauville festival offers eight concerts for lovers of baroque music. “To be able to do a program like that, it allows us to all rise together. When it works, it allows the room as well as the musicians to be together on the same level. We forget a little about the difficulties of life and we also remember important things”testifies Thomas Dunford.
For two years, the artists have experienced difficulties. The Covid-19 epidemic has caused the cancellation of festivals and concerts. In Deauville, the link was cut between the public and the musicians. The bells of Easter 2022 therefore ring a long-awaited reunion.
