In Corsica, judicial investigation opened for “kidnapping and sequestration” after the disappearance of a 41-year-old man near Ajaccio

The Ajaccio prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation on Thursday, August 22, against unknown persons on charges of “arbitrary arrest, kidnapping, sequestration or detention without release before the seventh day” and “participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing a crime,” France Bleu RCFM learned, after the disappearance of Ange-Antoine Agnetti. The 41-year-old Corsican man has been missing since August 16.

Before being reclassified on Thursday, the investigation was opened for “worrying disappearance”. The Ajaccio prosecutor’s office is now focusing on the criminal track. In six days, the Ajaccio prosecutor’s office has conducted “numerous investigations”according to information from France Bleu RCFM: “Witness interviews, vehicle searches and raids”The mobile phone that Ange-Antoine Agnetti had left in his car was also analyzed and his car keys were found on one of the wheels of his vehicle.

The man, who disappeared in Campo, in a mountainous area near Ajaccio, is a restaurant manager, but he “knows the mountain well”according to information from France Bleu. His relatives and villagers have surveyed this very wooded area with dense vegetation, numerous searches have also been carried out by the gendarmerie, without success. The investigations are now the responsibility of an investigating judge.
