In Corrèze the prefecture does not exclude the responsibility of a wolf in the attack of sheep

After the attack on seven sheep, six of which were found dead on Wednesday in the town of Chavanac in Haute-Corrèze, analyzes confirm that it could be a wolf. In a press release this Friday morning, the Corrèze prefecture announced that the responsibility of the wolf is not excluded. Several indices have been assessed by the French biodiversity office. A first photographic report and analyzes on the ground made it possible to arrive at this conclusion which however is not completely confirmed.

Compensation for the breeder

The Chavanac breeder who has suffered the predation of his ewes will be able to benefit from the compensation mechanisms within the framework of the national action plan on the wolf again specifies the prefecture of Corrèze which will bring together on January 25 the agricultural officials and the ‘all partners within the framework of a wolf watch unit.

The prefecture calls for reporting any suspicious observation of large canine to the departmental service of the French Biodiversity Office.
