Without detours”, every Saturday, follows the campaign of the candidates for the next presidential election. This week, the teams of France Télévisions are interested in Christiane Taubira, who has placed disability at the heart of her priorities.

A few kilometers from the towers of La Défense, in Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine), in the Parisian suburbs, a house shelters about fifty adults with mental disabilities. During the day, most work in a company, ordinary or adapted, and each evening they go to the Résidense des bois, their hostel. They are welcomed by Julian, the director. A protected and familiar world that suits them. Here, 35 adults watch over them permanently. But some, like Monique Allemand and Michel Defert, also like to go out. “We go to the restaurant, we go on vacation too“, testifies Monica German.

A few kilometers further, a caterer prepares cocktails and meal trays. All of its employees are disabled, and almost all of them are schizophrenic. Christiane Taubira, candidate for the next presidential election, visits the “Fourneaux de Marthe et Mathieu”. Asked about the issue of disability, she said that Éric Zemmour had placed this subject at the center of the debates in the most odious way possible.
