Perhaps a chance of a medal for the French sport shooting team, Saturday August 3, with Camille Jedrzejewski in the final at 9:30 a.m. of the 25 m pistol shooting. The atmosphere is there in Châteauroux, where foreign supporters are participating in the fervor on the Olympic site. The stands have been regularly filled since the start of the competitions, a week ago.
No doubt, the loudest are the Indian fans, who shout and sing at the top of their lungs after every ball fired. Rashra is experiencing her very first Olympics: “It’s a Paris 2024 tattoo because it was my dream to attend the Olympics and I’m so happy that it happened. It’s my first Olympics, but not my last, that’s for sure.”
Shooting has become a very popular sport in India over the last 20 years. Just talking about it gives Amar chills: “I am very happy. It is a unique chance to see India win a bronze medal and I hope for many more.”
There are also many American flags in the stands. Leslie and Andrew are passionate about sport shooting, but also about France. “We visited some castles. It’s the first time we’ve seen a competition abroad.”says Leslie. “I really like it here. I’m also a fan of French architecture, it’s really beautiful”Andrew adds. Once the shooting tests are over, on August 5, the two Americans will go to Paris to visit.
