Gathered in the “freedom convoy”, Canadian truckers march across the country to protest against the vaccination imposed on them if they want to cross the border with the United States.
In Toronto, Quebec City and across Canada, truck drivers once again demonstrated their strength this weekend, Saturday, February 5. The protesters, united in what they call “freedom convoy“, have been opposing for 8 days now the compulsory vaccination of drivers to cross the border between Canada and the United States. In Toronto, the police have chosen to close certain roads to minimize disruption.
“They’re going to lose anyway. You see what’s going on here right now. We’re going to outnumber the police and at some point the Americans will start to do it too“, assures one of the drivers. The mayor of the city, John Tory, warned that “if some intend to demonstrate violently and without any respect, I ask you on behalf of all the inhabitants and all the businesses of Toronto to stay at home“.
