In Ukraine, the city of Borodyanka had 13,000 inhabitants before the war. It is now a field of ruins. Almost all the buildings were destroyed.
In Borodyanka (Ukraine), 50 km from kyiv (Ukraine), missiles and bombs struck indiscriminately. A building, the town’s main residence, was bombed. The nine-story building was pulverized in a flash. In the rubble, there remain victims who have not yet been cleared. “All the houses have been destroyed, it’s scary”testifies a resident.
The columns of Russian tanks took this axis to try to reach kyiv, the Ukrainian capital. On the outskirts of the city, hundreds of crates of armaments were abandoned in the fields. The ammunition, still present by the hundreds, was to be used to break through the Ukrainian defences. According to witnesses, the shells sometimes directly targeted civilians in Borodyanka and its surroundings. At least 200 victims have already been identified by the mayor of the town.
