In Biarritz in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, a young woman, who has suffered breast cancer in 2017, opened a store specialized to make daily life easier for women with cancer. In 2017, Marine Labat, then aged 27, was diagnosed with breast cancer. For more than a year and a half, she will undergo heavy treatments. And that’s when the young Biarrote got the idea of setting up a store for women with cancer.
This initiative was born in the face of the lack of possibilities that Marine Labat felt during her convalescence. The aim of the store is to provide a comfortable space in order to better meet the needs of cancer patients through adapted underwear, body care or even sharing workshops.
Marine Labat has set up her establishment in the center of Biarritz. The manager of Bizaldi wanted to design a welcoming and warm place for her future customers. “I wanted to create a place where I could find everything I would need during these treatments. All in a shop that is normal, far from the medical sector and not stigmatizing”, explains the 32-year-old.
This business seems to meet the needs of many people who now feel more comfortable with the disease. “I have been on treatment for breast cancer for a year. Initially, we spend a lot of time in the pharmacy. And going to the drugstore for the choice of a bra, it is not very sexy. What attracted me to this shop is its setting and that it is ordinary “, details Stéphanie Som, client of Bizaldi.
Marine Labat offers sophrology and socio-aesthetic workshops within its brand. Also, clients can make an appointment with her to talk about their needs in complete privacy. Because trade wants to be a place of comfort.
