This is an exceptional concert by the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, conducted by violinist Renaud Capuçon, which was given in the new performance hall of the Saline-Royal d’Arc. This academy trains the best musicians of tomorrow thanks to its residential master classes also accessible online.
At the heart of an area of 13 hectares, the Royal Saltworks of Arc et Senan is a truly beautiful setting nestled in a monument inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is here that the musician Renaud Capuçon gave a concert as part of the inauguration of the new performance hall. For this exceptional concert, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra and its famous musical director Renaud Capuçon performed Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 then the Symphony No. 9 The big one by Franz Schubert.
An event which allows us to reveal the full potential of this new acoustic equipment designed for classical music, with unparalleled comfort in the region, for the public and for the artists. “The more concert halls we have in France and Europe, precisely in places that are not just London, Berlin, Vienna or Paris, the better. People who don’t have access to these cities and who have the impression that this is music reserved for the elite are wrong. We come wherever there are beautiful rooms.” explains Renaud Capuçon.

An academy with recording studios
This new concert hall is also an Academy whose objective is to train the best musicians of tomorrow. For this, it offers online master classes. Thanks to its management and its 4 recording studios, the sessions are filmed and brought together in an international master class catalog.
“It’s a small conservatory. A fabulous tool. It’s a dream to have both recording studios and the concert hall underneath. You can record everything at the same time, even discs” welcomes Hubert Tassy, Director of the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans. The online catalog on salineacademy.com presents more than 200 master classes from the most prestigious professors such as Miriam Fried, Martin Beaver, Jacques Rouvier, Stephen Kovacevich, Augustin Dumay, captured during the academies at the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans.
Internationally recognized master classes
On the occasion of this concert, cellist Marc Coppey, artistic director of the Saline royale Academy, was invited to perform Concerto No. 7 by Luigi Boccherini. It is he who accompanies La Saline Royale Académie in its educational and artistic project. He works on the quality of video productions and academies.
Its internationally popular Masterclasses are now connected to the whole world. “Filming them with our multi-camera technology, and created on a dedicated site for the whole world and translated into all languages, in French, English, Korean, Chinese, is something completely new.” explains Marc Coppey.
Lat Royal Saltworks is located on the border of Jura and Doubs, in Arc-et-Senans.
