Pending its opening scheduled for next October, future employees are trained at the National Agency for Adult Vocational Training in Poisy. #TheyHaveTheSolution
Cooking, dishwashing or room service… These apprentices like no other have six weeks to learn the ropes of catering. They are people with mental disabilities. They receive training at the National Agency for Adult Vocational Training in Poisy. This solidarity and inclusive project was launched by the Atout Coeur association for the integration of people with disabilities.
According to the project manager, Marie-Bénédicte Tessier, the commitment is real: “In general, people with disabilities have the pleasure of a job well done and the desire that things go well”. A project that makes sense as the figures show: if France has 2.7 million people with disabilities and of working age, only 988,000 have a job.
In a few weeks, these apprentices will make their mark in the disabled-responsible restaurant Atout Coeur. They will stay 15 days in the new establishment to familiarize themselves with the premises before serving customers. A bet for this establishment whose objective is to surprise the clientele and above all to change the way people look at people with disabilities. The Atout Coeur restaurant is scheduled to open its doors in mid-October in the center of Annecy.
