Parisian footballer Kylian Mbappé has waived part of his bonuses on his contract, the Sports Department of Radio France and France Bleu Paris learned on Thursday January 4 from a source close to the matter, confirming information from RMC.
This premium amounts to “several tens of millions of euros”. It financially covers Paris Saint-Germain, if the 2018 world champion striker were to leave the club freely in June. Kylian Mbappé announced Wednesday January 3 in the evening that with “the agreement made with the president [du PSG] Nasser Al-Khelaïfi this summer, whatever [sa] decision, we succeeded in protecting all parties and preserving the serenity of the club for the challenges to come.”.
At the end of his contract in June 2024 with Paris Saint-Germain, the French striker has in fact been free since Monday January 1 to sign a pre-contract with any club. Wednesday evening, in front of the press, Kylian Mbappé confided that he had not yet “made his decision” regarding his future and not having set a deadline. Concerning his situation, he clarified that “no one talks about it inside the club, it doesn’t interest many people”. “What’s important is that I can help the team win trophies”he added.
