In 2036 | Warsaw wants to be a candidate to host the Summer Olympics

(Warsaw) Polish President Andrzej Duda announced on Wednesday that he intended to submit his country’s candidacy to host the Summer Olympic Games in 2036.

“In the following days, I will prepare an appropriate letter to the president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach,” said Mr. Duda, quoted by the Polish news agency PAP.

“I want to believe that this will effectively launch our efforts and that we will have the opportunity to host the 2036 Summer Olympics,” he added.

The head of state specified that his letter will be transmitted to Mr. Bach on October 6, during a meeting with the president of the Polish Olympic Committee Radoslaw Piesiewicz.

Poland has never hosted an Olympic Games.
