Chloé, who had disappeared in Seine-Maritime, was found safe and sound on Saturday April 22. The gendarmes deployed significant means to achieve their ends. Present on site, journalist Valéry Lerouge takes stock.
Disappeared since Friday, Chloe was found safe and sound. Journalist Valéry Lerouge takes stock of the means deployed by the police. “Every year in France, there are more than 8,000 worrying disappearances of adults, that’s more than 20 a day. Fortunately, not all of them require such means. It is most often a short-lived runaway or voluntary departure. The gendarmes decide on a case-by-case basis whether to deploy resources. It depends on the family background, the personality of the deceased and whether he took any means of payment or his cell phone with him.
Found thanks to its geolocation
“In the case of Chloé, the investigators retained the very early hour of her disappearance: 5:45 a.m. Then, the fact that she did not go to her place of work and that she did not take his cell phone”, notes Valéry Lerouge. The gendarmes consider that it is these means deployed as well as the geolocation of mobile that made it possible to find her quickly.
