The immigration bill continues its examination in the Senate on Tuesday, November 7. Asked about the fact that Les Républicains (LR) support this text or not, the president of the party indicated in the “4 Truths”: “There is one point on which we say very clearly that we will never accept it, (…) This is the regularization message”. Eric Ciotti thus referred to article 3 of the text, which provides for a one-year renewable residence permit for undocumented workers in sectors with a shortage of hand–of work. “We will use all means, if there is this dangerous measure, to avoid” that the immigration bill “pass”, “including” the vote on a motion of censure, warned the president of LR.
“We refuse migratory ‘at the same time’”
“We have five million French people and 400,000 foreigners who are in a legal situation registered at Pôle emploi, and we would need to look for people who are in an irregular situation. It’s a sweet fable, it’s not realistic”estimated Eric Ciotti. “We refuse the ‘in even time’ migratory. We cannot say on the one hand: ‘We hardensand on the other: ‘We softens.‘”, he insisted.
