Immigration bill: Bruno Retailleau, president of the LR group in the Senate, indicates that his party “does not rule out” the possibility of a motion of censure

The Senate will first consider the immigration bill starting November 6. Asked about the possibility that the right, very hostile to this bill, could try to bring down the government with a motion of censure if the latter persists with its text, Bruno Retailleau indicated in the “4 Truths” on France 2, Monday October 2: “In any casethis is a possibility that we do not rule out, because the weapon of the motion of censure and other constitutional weapons must not be ruled out, to the extent that we must not deceive the French.“

Among the points which arouse opposition from Republicans on this text, there is in particular the regularization of people in a legal situation who occupy professions in sectors in tension. “There is a rule in French law, which is that there must be no premium for fraud. Now, we are going to create an enforceable right for illegal immigrants, and so that is a call for change. And above all, there are 440,000 foreigners who are unemployed in France.
